I always come here for the cheese pupusas and they're excellent !! I couldn't ask for better service and hospitality while eating here
The food is fresh and amazing! The service Is friendly and made with love . 11/10 definitely recommend! Mom and pops atmosphere.
We went for lunch on a Monday. The server didn't speak English so I couldn't get answers to my menu questions. I started with a papusa, beef empanada and fried tamale. All were delicious. We also had a large platter for $18 with chicharron, steak, steak taquitos, plantain chips, fried yuca, tortilla chips, & a cup of beans. The steak was very chewy and I spit out multiple pieces. We ended with a plantain empanada stuffed with a white sweet sauce. It had a sugar coating and was fried. Delicious. The restaurant is clean. There is parking in the attached lot. Prices are reasonable.
Good place to eat Latin food. Prices are affordable, food is good! Will definitely recommend the place specially the special breakfast!
Wow. Amazing El Salvadorean cuisine. The empanadas were legit on point! Homemade chicken and potatoes stuffing. The sweet corn tamales were moist and sweetened just right. The carne asada was marinated in all the flavors of El Salvador. I love little hole in the wall and this was a fantastic find. Definitely must try if you're craving authentic Latin food.
As someone who is Salvadorian I'm always looking for a place nearby that can really satisfy my craving for papusas. Well it's easy to say that this place exceeded my expectations, I got bean and cheese papusas and they were the real deal. Also got the Sopa de Res which they only serve a couple times a week and it was so authentic. I work about 7 minutes from this place so I will be coming back over and over again. Atmosphere is very clean I was overall very impressed and wish this business long lasting success
Really delicious/cute spot! You can practice your Spanish here when you order food. Menu is in Spanish and English. I previously wasn't familiar with Honduran or Salvadoran food but now I am. I learned about pupusas on buzzfeed, and definitely will try it next time I go back. Steak and chicken were yum, definitely will try shrimp too next time. Tamales de elotes tiernos tastes like it was made with love by someone's sweet abuelita. Great prices and big portions. Waitress was very sweet and attentive, staff wore masks. Hidden gem restaurant!

Alright, if you're Central American or just love Central American food, This is the place you want to eat at. On several occasions over the past year, I've eaten at El Merendon and have ordered takeout, and trust me it has not disappointed me at all. I've tasted the Cena Hondurenra and it was so delicious the Carne and beans feel so fresh and tasty. The Baleada con crane tastes as if my abulea made it by hand. You cannot go wrong with this dish. I recommend this restaurant for true authentic Central American food.
